5×9 “Lite Display Base” Flag Cases
The “Lite Display Base” Flag Case features an assembled wood pedestal with a glass enclosed display area below the flag. This Display area is designed specifically for shell casings fired from an Honor Guard.
Most often there are 3 casings displayed in the window, but we’ll adapt the area to show as many as you like.
My 5×9 “Lite Display Base” Flag Cases allows for storage of personal items or memorabilia that is concealed from view.
All flag cases are hand made and are a wonderful family heirloom!
Made from your choice of Select Walnut, Maple, Cherry, or Red Oak. Greg will often make this piece from mixed woods. The “Facade” can be made from a different contrasting wood color. Commonly, a Walnut Flag case will have an Engraved Maple “Facade” . The effect is unique, beautiful and stunning!
My Standard Plate Glass is included in the price for all shadow boxes and flag cases. We offer several options for glass including UV protective and Museum Non-Glare. All are a good choice and your selection should depend on the environment in which your Flag Case or Shadow Box will be subject. All glass is crystal clear and easy to maintain!
What are You saying about this box?
- December 29, 2022 *****Hello, Just want to say I received the flag box today and am very happy with it. Very excellent quality and craftsmanship. Very well done…a fitting forever tribute to my WWII veteran Dad. Thank all of you very much. Raymond M.
- June 21, 2022 ***** Awesome, thank you so much! The case is all we had hoped and so much more. Hardest thing for us now is to decide where/how to display this beautiful piece. I know my husband would be very proud of it as well. Thank you SO much, your work is impeccable! Norma H.
- March 11/2022 *****I received the flag case today, and you all need some praise.
I’m not sure if I have adequate words to describe how cool this is, and I wanted to say thank you. I know you are probably not hurting for business, but I’d like to show some appreciation anyway.
It wasn’t only the finished product, the great communication you maintained through what was essentially a long project was very helpful. I was so nervous that this wouldn’t turn out, but I shouldn’t have been. I would say that it was better than I expected, but I expected perfection for something this important. As far as what my idea of perfection entails, I think this meets it.
I’ll be proud to display this for the next three months, and then I’ll be proud to give it to my sister as a gift.
Thank you again. Bryan K.
- Special Notice Regarding Walnut:
Strong demand and over harvesting has led to a very real shortage of high quality, dark walnut boards throughout the U.S.. Long lengths of clear lumber, and wider planks are becoming more scarce, with quality logs being harvested for veneer, or export. The result has been boards of narrow width, shorter lengths, with defects such as knots or splits, closer together, and Sapwood being quite prevalent on one face, if not more. I am making an attempt to utilize as much of each board as possible, while creating a product that shows off the natural beauty of this precious material, and wasting as little as possible. Therefore, I am offering walnut as a choice of 2 different “Grades” defined here.
Grade A: Solid Walnut Hardwood with minimal visible sapwood on the exterior of the case. 50% Sapwood will be acceptable for the interior of the box, positioned facing the back side of the case. This material will come at a premium.
Grade B; Solid Hardwood with minimal sapwood. 20% Sapwood will be acceptable for the Exterior of the box, positioned facing the back of the box.
80% sapwood will be acceptable for the Interior of the case, oriented facing the rear of the box. A slight streak of sapwood may be visible on the face of the box. This walnut will be offered at a lower price. Your purchase of a “Grade B walnut case allows me to use more of the Sapwood without throwing out viable material…it also DOES NOT mean you will receive a box that has lots of sapwood in it! In fact it’s highly likely that there will be very little visible conspicuously…you are just allowing me to use these boards more thoroughly.
• A Special Note Regarding Cherry:
Cherry is a hardwood with a Light Red /Brown color and a Fine Grain Pattern. With exposure to light and oxygen, Cherry Hardwood will develop a Patina and darken dramatically over time. You will notice after as little as 30 days that the cherry wood has darkened. Cherry will eventually become a medium/dark reddish brown color on its own. I do not stain these beautiful woods to make a color. Take a look and contact me if you have questions!
